PASADENA — Speaker Robert Rivas joined community leaders, state legislators and emergency responders in Pasadena on Thursday as Governor Newsom signed a $2.5 billion package to provide immediate aid L.A. wildfire recovery.
The legislation, which passed with bipartisan support by the State Legislature earlier on Thursday, will:

This weekend in Los Angeles, Speaker Robert Rivas and a delegation of 14 California Assembly members met with firefighters and officials to discuss how to further assist emergency response efforts, and to fast-track recovery from the devastating and deadly wildfires.

SACRAMENTO - Organized retail theft and dangerous “smash and grab” crimes have had a chilling effect on communities across California. But in 2025, new public safety laws passed by the Legislature will go into effect, holding thieves accountable and protecting shoppers, business owners, and workers.
SACRAMENTO— Californians will begin to see economic relief beginning in the new year thanks to a new set of laws going into effect on January 1.
On Friday, Speaker Robert Rivas announced California State Assembly committee chairperson appointments for the 2025 legislative year.
