To ensure you're always informed and prepared during emergencies, it's vital to sign up for real-time alerts from your county. Monterey County residents can easily opt-in by texting their zip code to 65513, while San Benito County residents can join by texting "SBCalert" to 65513. For Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties, text your zip code to 888777 to receive important updates. You can also sign up for email alerts in Santa Clara County by visiting this link. The start of the school year can be exciting and stressful. You know this. Your family knows this. And my wife and I understand and can relate. New clothes, new supplies, figuring out lunches - it can be a lot.

Every first day of school is an important milestone for a family. As a father, I am always amazed at how much my daughter has grown up when looking through first-day-of-school photos through the years.
