SACRAMENTO — In response to President Trump and Congressional Republicans’ decision to shut down the federal government, Speaker Robert Rivas (D-Salinas) issued the following statement:

“The government is shut down because Trump and his Republican loyalists would rather bring America to a halt than fund health care for your grandparents. It's that simple. Republicans own this.”
