(SACRAMENTO) – Assemblymember Robert Rivas (D-Hollister) issued the following statement after PG&E announced its intention to file bankruptcy:
“It’s critical that Californians have safe, reliable and affordable sources of energy. That’s why I will work closely with the Governor and my colleagues in the Legislature to ensure any solutions adequately protect our workers, environment and ratepayers.”
“My thoughts and prayers continue to be with the victims of the recent devastating wild fires. We must ensure that those affected are treated fairly and that we take steps as a state to prevent future tragedies. If we’re truly serious about preventing future disasters, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to combat climate change. Now is the time to take steps forward to a clean energy future, not to regress to the dirty power of the past.”
