Led by Rivers and Action (only Southeast based L.A. River organization), they will teach children how to paint using watercolors and use the L.A. River as inspiration. Rivers in Action was founded by Lynwood resident Melissa Bamanpour.
This organization will set up a self-portrait workshop where families and children can create an images of themselves and collectively reflect the community.
Curated by the Art Therapy Network, this engagement project will focus on migration patterns and storytelling through the medium of art therapy. They will directly engage the public by educating them on migration therapy.
Led by Hector "Tetris" Arias. A recognized graffiti artist from Bell, Hector "Tetris" Arias will create images on wood panels specific to the event and the L.A. River.
Led by Thalia Mesa (Maywood resident and artist); there will be face painting for children.
Led by Jenn Mejia (staff for City of South Gate); there will be stencil drawing workshop for children.
Curated by Edlin G. Lopez (Southeast artist), an art walk will be set up to view local artists' work organized around the theme of transformations, referencing the melting pot of cultures and histories evident in the Southeast community.
