In September we celebrate Latino Heritage Month!

Did you know that over 70% of the AD63 population is Latino?

September is when we celebrate the history, culture and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. The first observation began in 1968, but became California law on August 17, 1988. The observation month of September 15 to October 15 is also significant, because it lands on the anniversary of independence for several Latin American countries.

The Latino community, through hard work and dedication, has left an imprint in every corner of this country, California, and especially AD63. This year, it is even more important to acknowledge the achievements of Latinos as we have seen our community affected disproportionately by COVID-19. Let's celebrate our Latino heritage and community not just during this month, but every day!
