Wednesday, October 22, 2014

Lafayette, California – Assemblymember Anthony Rendon, Chair of the Assembly Water, Parks & Wildlife Committee, recently participated in a wide-ranging discussion on the future of California water policy in the shadow of continued drought and climate change.  The discussion hosted by the Commonwealth Club will be broadcast as part of the “Climate One” series on KQED public radio (San Francisco).  Rendon observed that California’s severe drought has changed the political landscape for water, leading to passage of the landmark groundwater management legislation and a bi-partisan water bond on the November 2014 ballot.  The other participants included (L-R):

  • Danny Merkley, Director of Water Resources, California Farm Bureau Federation
  • John Coleman, President, Association of California Water Agencies; Board Member, East Bay Municipal Utility District
  • Lauren Sommer, Reporter, KQED Science
  • Greg Dalton, Founder, Climate One
